Frequently Asked Questions
Support for Unsynced and Unsynced Music.

How can I get music onto my BlackBerry?
There are two ways to do this. First, you can connect your BlackBerry to your computer, enable mass storage mode, and drag and drop music from your desktop computer onto your BlackBerry drive. Alternatively, you can download RIM's Media Sync to automatically copy music and playlists out of iTunes or Windows Media Player onto your BlackBerry.

How do I enable mass storage mode?
To enable mass storage mode go to Options -> Memory and set "Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected" to "Prompt" or "Yes". Now, connect your BlackBerry to your computer via USB. A new drive should show up in your desktop file browser. All that's left is to copy and paste music from your desktop onto this new drive, disconnect your BlackBerry, and then say "Yes" to the Unsynced Music prompt to scan for new music.
-
What are the four buttons down the left hand side?
The four buttons give you quick access to the most commonly used functionalities. From top to buttom, these buttons are "Play/Pause", "Next Song", "Add Song to Playlist", and "Go to Now Playing Screen".

Why do the shortcut buttons not work when Unsynced Music is in the background?
Unfortunately this is a RIM restriction — third party applications can only access the keys when they are running in the foreground (yes, even the volume keys, for security reasons of course). We know this hurts the experience a bit for now, but this will be fixed with RIM's new OS 5.0.

Where's my Storm version?
We want to provide versions for other devices as soon as possible, but first we need to nail the 8900 and Bold version. This will take some time, but will result in much better software, something that is good for everyone (especially for us).
